The standard functionality of FrontFace can be easily extended by plugins. The “Newsboard” plugin was one of the first plugins made available for FrontFace and is one of the most popular. It allows you to display any RSS news feed as an eye catching news board on your screen.
The Newsboard plugin has now been completely reworked, modernized and made available for the Android platform as well. In addition to a more modern visual style, the support for multimedia feeds (including images and videos) has been improved. In addition, the plugin has been optimized for both landscape (e.g. 16:9) and portrait orientation. Of course, the visual appearance (colors, fonts, etc.) can be fully customized.
With the new Newsboard plugin, FrontFace playlists can be easily extended to display the latest news and headlines. Since all RSS feed formats such as RSS 0.9x, 1.0, 2.0 and Atom are supported, any feed, even from internal sources such as SharePoint or WordPress, can be easily integrated into FrontFace playlists.
